Proposed New Jersey Bill Would Turn Vacant Properties into Housing for Veterans

In New Jersey, a proposed bill would give grants to non-profit organizations to help them turn vacant properties into housing for veterans! The Housing Assistance for Veterans Act would convert abandoned properties all over the state into homes. There are nearly 9,000 people in the state of New Jersey who don’t have a permanent residence – and many of them are veterans.

This bill was approved by the state Senate Community and the Urban Affairs Committee, but a date for a full vote has yet to be set.
